This is not the same as a performance appraisal that identifies and discusses job-relevance and performance, strengths and weaknesses. A poll was done to show that 58% of HR executives rated their performance management systems at a C or below average (Cascio, 2013). The one solid payoff for a strong performance management plan is that studies show 51% are more likely to outperform their competitors on a financial standpoint (Cascio, 2013). This tool will be explained and given as a recommendation to Mr. Bradley Stonefield for his Limousine service. Feedback from the employee will be important to Landslide Limousine Service and the employees no matter if the feedback is positive or negative. Employees will have to learn to accept constructive criticism and for Landslide to know how to work with the department and each employee to improve production. It will be important as a company to demonstrate the standards related to each individual performance. This helps employees to identify what is a failure and what is a success (Cascio, 2013). Management should also be able to give employees a time-frame in order for them to fix the negative parts of their appraisal. Traciââ¬â¢s recommendation would be forà receiving too many negative feedbacks would be to put the employee on probation for 60 days to fix the problem which they received on their appraisal. The organizational performance philosophy is great to have when starting a business. It is important to set the standards for the employees in the beginning. Employees work well when they have a clear understanding of their expectations. The performance management plan gives that clear understanding. Criteria Training evaluation strategies are an important aspect of any company. ââ¬Å"To make an intelligent decision within the HR department and the best way to deploy and manage people, there are two ways that are most essential (1) a description of the strategies that the company would like to use to compete in the marketplace. (2) The design of the job, that includes a description of the work that needs to be done and the skills needed to perform the job and the training and experience requirements required for the number of jobsâ⬠(Cascio, 2013, pg. 182). Training should include methods to evaluate: Employee reaction to the training Knowledge and skills gained during the training Application of the knowledge and skills in the workplace The impact of training on the organization. Pretests It is important that Landslide Limousine Company have a written plan for evaluating and training its employees. When there is a clear course objective and content developed, it should not delay until after the training gets completed. ââ¬Å"An evaluation determines the amount of learning achieved by trainingâ⬠(Kirkpatricks Four-Level Training Evaluation Model, 2014). An employeeââ¬â¢s performance will improve on the job as a result of training, and the methods of evaluating training are: 1. Gainingà employeeââ¬â¢s opinions, questionnaires or informal discussions with employees can help employers determine the importance and suitability of the training program for the employee. 2. Supervisorââ¬â¢s observations allow supervisors to remain in a good position to observe the employeeââ¬â¢s performance before and after the training to note the improvements or changes. 3. Improvement in the workplace the ultimate goal in the workplace regards getting constant improvement in the workplace. The training programs helps to make changes throughout the workplace, and it may reduce injury and accident rates. Monitoring and observing training The strategy is very important. It provides the big picture of how you the company intends to evaluate the training across the business. ââ¬Å"The training evaluation strategies help generate coherence to your activities forcing the company to write down and approach the evaluation of the training that helps ensure that the employee and employers have a logical and efficient plan in placeâ⬠(Kirkpatricks Four-Level Training Evaluation Model, 2014). Collecting feedback An important way for the Landslide Limousine as an employer to determine what the employees has learned during the training events remains during the training, and the training instructor should have specific learning objectives. Evaluations done on the training should get done immediately after the training event to determine if the employee has gained the knowledge, skill, or attitude toward the training. Implementing feedback The behavior of the employee determines if the training changed his or her on-the-job behavior as a result of the training program. If the behavior on the job did not change, it is the responsibility of the supervisors of Landslide Limousine to find out why a change has not occurred from the feedback received. ââ¬Å"The supervisors and training instructor should determine if the training had a positive effect on the job performanceâ⬠(Kirkpatricks Four-Level Training Evaluation Model, 2014). Landslide Limousineââ¬â¢s management should explain to the employees the importance and applicability of on-the-job training, actual experiences, real world examples, and practicing behaviors to explain the importance to the employees. The final results are determined by the businessââ¬â¢ operations, and the results contribute to how good the business functions. How well the training gets done and observed get based off of several things: Improved quality of work Higher productivity Reduction in turnover Fewer grievances Lower absenteeism Fewer accidents Greater job satisfaction Increased profits. The conservative party is typically viewed as being very traditional, as well as allowing citizens to become empowered in their own life decisions. Some of the things they stand for include hoping for a long-term improvement of reducing the deficit and allowing mortgage rates to become lower than current levels (Mabbutt). They also believe in lowering income taxes to help people keep the money they worked hard to attain (Mabbutt). Some more views carried by the Conservative party include creating more jobs, more restrictions regarding welfare, and improving the school systems for the youth (Mabbutt). The views of the United Kingdoms conservative party follow the same political perspectives as many other countries around the world. When considering the Conservatives standpoint on the policy of over time, requiring businesses to pay 1.5 times a workerââ¬â¢s wage above 44 hours per week allows them to stay within their views. With this decision it will allow those that put the time into their work to receive the compensation they deserve. In Britain there is ââ¬Å"no legal right to pay for w...

A Synopsis of the Movie, Ip Man 2: Legend of the Grandmaster
Period 4 ââ¬â Films Literature 8/19/20 The movie that I find the best would be Ip Man 2 Legend of the Grandmaster directed by Wilson Yip. Ip Man 2 Legend of the Grandmaster is an action packed martial arts film, this movie being a semi-biographical cinema is based on a real person in history which makes the move even more interesting and exciting. Ip Man 2 Legend of the Grandmaster not only has an action packed side but also has a heartfelt side by putting in Yip Man's tough life after world war two. This movie also has spectacular fghting scenes choreographed by Sammo Hung a renowned in the martial arts department. Y Ip Man 2 Legend of the Grandmaster demonstrates what every martial arts movie needs, action! Yip Man is a martial arts teacher which basically says that his skills surpass all. A fight scene that stood out for me was a fight that was set in a fish market. Yip went to the fish market to save a pupil of his and the rescue turned into an all-out brawl, a huge one!The br awl was on a scaled of about two to sixty and Yip showing his skills defended himself throughout the entire fght unscathed! The fight scenes show the passion and dedication that Yip had for Wing Chun. Although this being a martial arts movie you wouldn't expect much of a storyline rather than Just a brawl fest to brawl fest, but that is what separates this movie form the rest. In the first movie Yip Man was a rich man but that change after the Japanese invaded China in world war two.Now in the sequel Yip Man tries to start a martial arts class but things do not turn out right, people didn't pay when he asked and he was unaware of a rule put down by the city. So Yip Man is yet to face another tribulation and he conquers it. Also his wife is a bigger part in this movie making her role bigger by showing the relationship her and Yip have and what a big impact she has on him. This movie also shows the tribulations that the Chinese race had to deal with. TheBritish were put as the antagon ist; they abused the Chinese and used them as dogs. This harass they receive requires the Chinese to band together and get their honor back in a brawl. This fght is very honorable and inspiring because it shows that you can overcome anything together. Ip Man 2 Legend of the Grandmaster is a movie that I will always love and a movie that I will watch over and over again and I will not tire of it. It has beautiful fghting scenes and story line is very touching. This movie is my favorite movie.

Digital Fortress Chapter 22
David Becker strode over and stared down at the old man asleep on the cot. The man's right wrist was wrapped in a cast. He was between sixty and seventy years old. His snow-white hair was parted neatly to the side, and in the center of his forehead was a deep purple welt that spread down into his right eye. A little bump? he thought, recalling the lieutenant's words. Becker checked the man's fingers. There was no gold ring anywhere. Becker reached down and touched the man's arm. ââ¬Å"Sir?â⬠He shook him lightly. ââ¬Å"Excuse meâ⬠¦ sir?â⬠The man didn't move. Becker tried again, a little louder. ââ¬Å"Sir?â⬠The man stirred. ââ¬Å"Qu'est-ceâ⬠¦ quelle heure est-â⬠He slowly opened his eyes and focused on Becker. He scowled at having been disturbed. ââ¬Å"Qu'est-ce-que vous voulez?â⬠Yes, Becker thought, a French Canadian! Becker smiled down at him. ââ¬Å"Do you have a moment?â⬠Although Becker's French was perfect, he spoke in what he hoped would be the man's weaker language, English. Convincing a total stranger to hand over a gold ring might be a little tricky; Becker figured he could use any edge he could get. There was a long silence as the man got his bearings. He surveyed his surroundings and lifted a long finger to smooth his limp white mustache. Finally he spoke. ââ¬Å"What do you want?â⬠His English carried a thin, nasal accent. ââ¬Å"Sir,â⬠Becker said, over pronouncing his words as if speaking to a deaf person, ââ¬Å"I need to ask you a few questions.â⬠The man glared up at him with a strange look on his face. ââ¬Å"Do you have some sort of problem?â⬠Becker frowned; the man's English was impeccable. He immediately lost the condescending tone. ââ¬Å"I'm sorry to bother you, sir, but were you by any chance at the Plaza de Espana today?â⬠The old man's eyes narrowed. ââ¬Å"Are you from the City Council?â⬠ââ¬Å"No, actually I'm-ââ¬Å" ââ¬Å"Bureau of Tourism?â⬠ââ¬Å"No, I'm-ââ¬Å" ââ¬Å"Look, I know why you're here!â⬠The old man struggled to sit up. ââ¬Å"I'm not going to be intimidated! If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times-Pierre Cloucharde writes the world the way he lives the world. Some of your corporate guidebooks might sweep this under the table for a free night on the town, but the Montreal Times is not for hire! I refuse!â⬠ââ¬Å"I'm sorry, sir. I don't think you under-ââ¬Å" ââ¬Å"Merde alors! I understand perfectly!â⬠He wagged a bony finger at Becker, and his voice echoed through the gymnasium. ââ¬Å"You're not the first! They tried the same thing at the Moulin Rouge, Brown's Palace, and the Golfigno in Lagos! But what went to press? The truth! The worst Wellington I've ever eaten! The filthiest tub I've ever seen! And the rockiest beach I've ever walked! My readers expect no less!â⬠Patients on nearby cots began sitting up to see what was going on. Becker looked around nervously for a nurse. The last thing he needed was to get kicked out. Cloucharde was raging. ââ¬Å"That miserable excuse for a police officer works for your city! He made me get on his motorcycle! Look at me!â⬠He tried to lift his wrist. ââ¬Å"Now who's going to write my column?â⬠ââ¬Å"Sir, I-ââ¬Å" ââ¬Å"I've never been so uncomfortable in my forty-three years of travel! Look at this place! You know, my column is syndicated in over-ââ¬Å" ââ¬Å"Sir!â⬠Becker held up both hands urgently signaling truce. ââ¬Å"I'm not interested in your column; I'm from the Canadian Consulate. I'm here to make sure you're okay!â⬠Suddenly there was a dead quiet in the gymnasium. The old man looked up from his bed and eyed the intruder suspiciously. Becker ventured on in almost a whisper. ââ¬Å"I'm here to see if there's anything I can do to help.â⬠Like bring you a couple of Valium. After a long pause, the Canadian spoke. ââ¬Å"The consulate?â⬠His tone softened considerably. Becker nodded. ââ¬Å"So, you're not here about my column?â⬠ââ¬Å"No, sir.â⬠It was as if a giant bubble had burst for Pierre Cloucharde. He settled slowly back down onto his mound of pillows. He looked heartbroken. ââ¬Å"I thought you were from the cityâ⬠¦ trying to get me toâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ He faded off and then looked up. ââ¬Å"If it's not about my column, then why are you here?â⬠It was a good question, Becker thought, picturing the Smoky Mountains. ââ¬Å"Just an informal diplomatic courtesy,â⬠he lied. The man looked surprised. ââ¬Å"A diplomatic courtesy?â⬠ââ¬Å"Yes, sir. As I'm sure a man of your stature is well aware, the Canadian government works hard to protect its countrymen from the indignities suffered in these, er-shall we say-less refined countries.â⬠Cloucharde's thin lips parted in a knowing smile. ââ¬Å"But of courseâ⬠¦ how pleasant.â⬠ââ¬Å"You are a Canadian citizen, aren't you?â⬠ââ¬Å"Yes, of course. How silly of me. Please forgive me. Someone in my position is often approached withâ⬠¦ wellâ⬠¦ you understand.â⬠ââ¬Å"Yes, Mr. Cloucharde, I certainly do. The price one pays for celebrity.â⬠ââ¬Å"Indeed.â⬠Cloucharde let out a tragic sigh. He was an unwilling martyr tolerating the masses. ââ¬Å"Can you believe this hideous place?â⬠He rolled his eyes at the bizarre surroundings. ââ¬Å"It's a mockery. And they've decided to keep me overnight.â⬠Becker looked around. ââ¬Å"I know. It's terrible. I'm sorry it took me so long to get here.â⬠Cloucharde looked confused. ââ¬Å"I wasn't even aware you were coming.â⬠Becker changed the subject. ââ¬Å"Looks like a nasty bump on your head. Does it hurt?â⬠ââ¬Å"No, not really. I took a spill this morning-the price one pays for being a good Samaritan. The wrist is the thing that's hurting me. Stupid Guardia. I mean, really! Putting a man of my age on a motorcycle. It's reprehensible.â⬠ââ¬Å"Is there anything I can get for you?â⬠Cloucharde thought a moment, enjoying the attention. ââ¬Å"Well, actuallyâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ He stretched his neck and tilted his head left and right. ââ¬Å"I could use another pillow if it's not too much trouble.â⬠ââ¬Å"Not at all.â⬠Becker grabbed a pillow off a nearby cot and helped Cloucharde get comfortable. The old man sighed contentedly. ââ¬Å"Much betterâ⬠¦ thank you.â⬠ââ¬Å"Pas du tout,â⬠Becker replied. ââ¬Å"Ah!â⬠The man smiled warmly. ââ¬Å"So you do speak the language of the civilized world.â⬠ââ¬Å"That's about the extent of it,â⬠Becker said sheepishly. ââ¬Å"Not a problem,â⬠Cloucharde declared proudly. ââ¬Å"My column is syndicated in the U.S.; my English is first rate.â⬠ââ¬Å"So I've heard.â⬠Becker smiled. He sat down on the edge of Cloucharde's cot. ââ¬Å"Now, if you don't mind my asking, Mr. Cloucharde, why would a man such as yourself come to a place like this? There are far better hospitals in Seville.â⬠Cloucharde looked angry. ââ¬Å"That police officerâ⬠¦ he bucked me off his motorcycle and then left me bleeding in the street like a stuck pig. I had to walk over here.â⬠ââ¬Å"He didn't offer to take you to a better facility?â⬠ââ¬Å"On that godawful bike of his? No thanks!â⬠ââ¬Å"What exactly happened this morning?â⬠ââ¬Å"I told it all to the lieutenant.â⬠ââ¬Å"I've spoken to the officer and-ââ¬Å" ââ¬Å"I hope you reprimanded him!â⬠Cloucharde interrupted. Becker nodded. ââ¬Å"In the severest terms. My office will be following up.â⬠ââ¬Å"I should hope so.â⬠ââ¬Å"Monsieur Cloucharde.â⬠Becker smiled, pulling a pen out of his jacket pocket. ââ¬Å"I'd like to make a formal complaint to the city. Would you help? A man of your reputation would be a valuable witness.â⬠Cloucharde looked buoyed by the prospect of being quoted. He sat up. ââ¬Å"Why, yesâ⬠¦ of course. It would be my pleasure.â⬠Becker took out a small note pad and looked up. ââ¬Å"Okay, let's start with this morning. Tell me about the accident.â⬠The old man sighed. ââ¬Å"It was sad really. The poor Asian fellow just collapsed. I tried to help him-but it was no use.â⬠ââ¬Å"You gave him CPR?â⬠Cloucharde looked ashamed. ââ¬Å"I'm afraid I don't know how. I called an ambulance.â⬠Becker remembered the bluish bruises on Tankado's chest. ââ¬Å"Did the paramedics administer CPR?â⬠ââ¬Å"Heavens, no!â⬠Cloucharde laughed. ââ¬Å"No reason to whip a dead horse-the fellow was long gone by the time the ambulance got there. They checked his pulse and carted him off, leaving me with that horrific policeman.â⬠That's strange, Becker thought, wondering where the bruise had come from. He pushed it from his mind and got to the matter at hand. ââ¬Å"What about the ring?â⬠he said as nonchalantly as possible. Cloucharde looked surprised. ââ¬Å"The lieutenant told you about the ring?â⬠ââ¬Å"Yes, he did.â⬠Cloucharde seemed amazed. ââ¬Å"Really? I didn't think he believed my story. He was so rude-as if he thought I were lying. But my story was accurate, of course. I pride myself on accuracy.â⬠ââ¬Å"Where is the ring?â⬠Becker pressed. Cloucharde didn't seem to hear. He was glassy-eyed, staring into space. ââ¬Å"Strange piece really, all those letters-looked like no language I'd ever seen.â⬠ââ¬Å"Japanese, maybe?â⬠Becker offered. ââ¬Å"Definitely not.â⬠ââ¬Å"So you got a good look at it?â⬠ââ¬Å"Heavens, yes! When I knelt down to help, the man kept pushing his fingers in my face. He wanted to give me the ring. It was most bizarre, horrible really-his hands were quite dreadful.â⬠ââ¬Å"And that's when you took the ring?â⬠Cloucharde went wide-eyed. ââ¬Å"That's what the officer told you! That I took the ring?â⬠Becker shifted uneasily. Cloucharde exploded. ââ¬Å"I knew he wasn't listening! That's how rumors get started! I told him the Jap fellow gave away the ring-but not to me! There's no way I would take anything from a dying man! My heavens! The thought of it!â⬠Becker sensed trouble. ââ¬Å"So you don't have the ring?â⬠ââ¬Å"Heavens, no!â⬠A dull ache crept through the pit of his stomach. ââ¬Å"Then who has it?â⬠Cloucharde glared at Becker indignantly. ââ¬Å"The German! The German has it!â⬠Becker felt like the floor had been pulled out from under him. ââ¬Å"German? What German?â⬠ââ¬Å"The German in the park! I told the officer about him! I refused the ring but the fascist swine accepted it!â⬠Becker set down his pen and paper. The charade was over. This was trouble. ââ¬Å"So a German has the ring?â⬠ââ¬Å"Indeed.â⬠ââ¬Å"Where did he go?â⬠ââ¬Å"No idea. I ran to call the police. When I got back, he was gone.â⬠ââ¬Å"Do you know who he was?â⬠ââ¬Å"Some tourist.â⬠ââ¬Å"Are you sure?â⬠ââ¬Å"My life is tourists,â⬠Cloucharde snapped. ââ¬Å"I know one when I see one. He and his lady friend were out strolling the park.â⬠Becker was more and more confused every moment. ââ¬Å"Lady friend? There was somebody with the German?â⬠Cloucharde nodded. ââ¬Å"An escort. Gorgeous redhead. Mon Dieu! Beautiful.â⬠ââ¬Å"An escort?â⬠Becker was stunned. ââ¬Å"As inâ⬠¦ a prostitute?â⬠Cloucharde grimaced. ââ¬Å"Yes, if you must use the vulgar term.â⬠ââ¬Å"Butâ⬠¦ the officer said nothing about-ââ¬Å" ââ¬Å"Of course not! I never mentioned the escort.â⬠Cloucharde dismissed Becker with a patronizing wave of his good hand. ââ¬Å"They aren't criminals-it's absurd that they're harassed like common thieves.â⬠Becker was still in a mild state of shock. ââ¬Å"Was there anyone else there?â⬠ââ¬Å"No, just the three of us. It was hot.â⬠ââ¬Å"And you're positive the woman was a prostitute?â⬠ââ¬Å"Absolutely. No woman that beautiful would be with a manlike that unless she were well paid! Mon Dieu! He was fat, fat, fat! A loudmouthed, overweight, obnoxious German!â⬠Cloucharde winced momentarily as he shifted his weight, but he ignored the pain and plowed on. ââ¬Å"This man was a beast-three hundred pounds at least. He locked onto that poor dear like she was about to run away-not that I'd blame her. I mean really! Hands all over her. Bragged that he had her all weekend for three hundred dollars! He's the one who should have dropped dead, not that poor Asian fellow.â⬠Cloucharde came up for air, and Becker jumped in. ââ¬Å"Did you get his name?â⬠Cloucharde thought for a moment and then shook his head. ââ¬Å"No idea.â⬠He winced in pain again and settled slowly back into his pillows. Becker sighed. The ring had just evaporated before his eyes. Commander Strathmore was not going to be happy. Cloucharde dabbed at his forehead. His burst of enthusiasm had taken its toll. He suddenly looked ill. Becker tried another approach. ââ¬Å"Mr. Cloucharde, I'd like to get a statement from the German and his escort as well. Do you have any idea where they're staying?â⬠Cloucharde closed his eyes, his strength fading. His breathing grew shallow. ââ¬Å"Anything at all?â⬠Becker pressed. ââ¬Å"The escort's name? There was a long silence. Cloucharde rubbed his right temple. He was suddenly looking pale. ââ¬Å"Wellâ⬠¦ ahâ⬠¦ no. I don't believeâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ His voice was shaky. Becker leaned toward him. ââ¬Å"Are you all right?â⬠Cloucharde nodded lightly. ââ¬Å"Yes, fineâ⬠¦ just a littleâ⬠¦ the excitement maybeâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ He trailed off. ââ¬Å"Think, Mr. Cloucharde.â⬠Becker urged quietly. ââ¬Å"It's important.â⬠Cloucharde winced. ââ¬Å"I don't knowâ⬠¦ the womanâ⬠¦ the man kept calling herâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ He closed his eyes and groaned. ââ¬Å"What was her name?â⬠ââ¬Å"I really don't recallâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ Cloucharde was fading fast. ââ¬Å"Think.â⬠Becker prodded. ââ¬Å"It's important that the consular file be as complete as possible. I'll need to support your story with statements from the other witnesses. Any information you can give me to help locate themâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ But Cloucharde was not listening. He was dabbing his forehead with the sheet. ââ¬Å"I'm sorryâ⬠¦ perhaps tomorrowâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ He looked nauseated. ââ¬Å"Mr. Cloucharde, it's important you remember this now.â⬠Becker suddenly realized he was speaking too loudly. People on nearby cots were still sitting up watching what was going on. On the far side of the room a nurse appeared through the double doors and strode briskly toward them. ââ¬Å"Anything at all,â⬠Becker pressed urgently. ââ¬Å"The German called the woman-ââ¬Å" Becker lightly shook Cloucharde, trying to bring him back. Cloucharde's eyes flickered momentarily. ââ¬Å"Her nameâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ Stay with me, old fellaâ⬠¦ ââ¬Å"Dewâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ Cloucharde's eyes closed again. The nurse was closing in. She looked furious. ââ¬Å"Dew?â⬠Becker shook Cloucharde's arm. The old man groaned. ââ¬Å"He called herâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ Cloucharde was mumbling now, barely audible. The nurse was less than ten feet away yelling at Becker in angry Spanish. Becker heard nothing. His eyes were fixed on the old man's lips. He shook Cloucharde one last time as the nurse bore down on him. The nurse grabbed David Becker's shoulder. She pulled him to his feet just as Cloucharde's lips parted. The single word leaving the old man's mouth was not actually spoken. It was softly sighed-like a distant sensual remembrance. ââ¬Å"Dewdropâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ The scolding grasp yanked Becker away. Dewdrop? Becker wondered. What the hell kind of name is Dewdrop? He spun away from the nurse and turned one last time to Cloucharde. ââ¬Å"Dewdrop? Are you sure?â⬠But Pierre Cloucharde was fast asleep.

If you took the previous version and aren't sure whether to take the new one, check out our guides to deciding, depending on whether you got ahigh scoreor a low one. Year Graduating High School Which SAT You Should Take 2016 or before Old (current) SAT for sure 2017 Old SAT recommended 2018 New SAT recommended 2019 or later New SAT for sure You Should DefinitelyTake the Old SAT If... You are a high school student graduating 2016, 2015, or 2014. (Remember that the old SAT is mandatory until March 2016, so if you're graduating in 2014 or 2015, you won't even have a choice.) If you're graduating in 2016, then March or later of senior year is generally way too late to take the SAT for most college admissions. Even if you're considering a late senior year test date, there are lots of reasons not to the reasons are much the same as for the class of 2017 but even more urgent. You Should Try to Take the Old SAT If... You're a high school student graduating in 2017. The reasons the Class of 2017 should take the old SAT are not obvious at first glance, but are clear if you think hard about it. After all, the last time you might have to take the old SAT is January 2016, which might be the last time the old SAT is given. That's the middle of junior year a little too early? I don't think so. You won't have to wait too long to take the new SAT, and you'll have many shots at it. How should you prepare then? Just as the Class of 2017 should sway a bit earlier to catch the old SAT safely, you should sway a bit later to catch the new SAT safely. Plan to start prepping in January of 2017. The new SAT will have been out for about a year and prep strategies will be quite mature by then. Decision Analysis for the US Army Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
Decision Analysis for the US Army - Essay Example Analytical decisions are undertaken when there is ample time to compare the facets, in order to choose the most profitable course of direction. The best module amongst the alternatives is taken (See appendix). In this case the supply of weapons is done from the highest bidder and of the best quality. Decision trees This is a tool that allocates data for decision making in form of tree in order to analyze the variable hence make the decision. The tool breaks down the data in logical and simple manner thus easy to understand. Any mistakes made in the data translate to the tree model. Each nodule of the tree represents an attribute, the branches corresponds to an attribute while each leaf assigns a classification. The module is very simple to use and interpret and it can handle both numerical and categorical data. The decision trees can be used for validation analysis as other statistical approach follows (Andrew, 2005). The simple illustration below describes the case of buying or maki ng weapons. A decision is made after thoroughly considering all the uncertainties involved then a decision is made. Cost factor can be used to make the decision and the manufacturing option would be adopted. Nonetheless, other factors need to be considered in real situation analysis e.g. quality, time taken etc. Illustration one: A variable is an element of a problem that is being predicted or determines it. They may change depending on the scope of the problem being analysed. Predictable variables are used to assess the certain conditions while unpredictable variables follow uncertainties hence probability is used. Variables are used in decision analysis to represent value or symbol of the actual attribute being determined. A variable denoted by Y may represent the cost estimates, overheads, revenues etc. When one value of a variable is related to another value of a variable, then the case is said to a correlation between the two variables. Correlation means an inter-relationship. A simple linear regression model is a statistical technique that explores the inter-relations between two or more variables. Linear regression tools have applied in many organisations to forecast for the observed variables. The military may want to determine whether there is a relationship between warring period and weapons use. To do so, the observed data is analysed and the simple line equation is used. Y=a+bx Y in this case represents number weapons used during war X variable shows the number the war reoccurs A and b are constants Table one weapons Time period lasted during the Wars 100000 1 year World war I 300000 1 year World war II 250000 2 yearsââ¬â¢ War in Afghanistan 85000 1 year War in Kuwait The equation is then extend to determine a and b i.e. 100,000= a+ 1b 250,000=a+2b -150,000= -b 150,000= b Then a=100,000-1b = 100000-150,000 = -50,000 If we were to determine the occurrence of world war III will take 3 years, then the number of weapons needed are: Y=a+bx = -50,000 + 150,000*3 =400,000 weapons The simple regression analysis can be determined by plotting a graph using the same variable to obtain the line of best fit. This can be then be used to forecast on future needs of weapon acquisition for the military. The relationship between the period the war takes the higher the number of weapons needed. The relationship is linear. This model works best when there are two variables under consideration. Scatter diagrams are used to analyze
